Jas 5:16-20

Lesson from the letter of St James the Apostle

Ps 117:1

Allelúja.

Confitémini Dómino, quóniam bonus: quóniam in sǽculum misericórdia ejus.

Allelúa, alleluia.

v. Give praise to Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Luke 11:5-13

Continuation + of the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Ps 108:30-31

Confitébor Dómino nimis in ore meo: et in médio multórum laudábo eum, qui ástitit a dextris páuperis: ut salvam fáceret a persequéntibus ánimam meam, allelúja.

v. I will give great thanks to the Lord with my mouth: and in the midst of many I will praise him. Because he hath stood at the right hand of the poor, to save my soul from persecutors, allelúja.

Hæc múnera, quǽsumus, Dómine, et víncula nostræ pravitátis absólvant, et tuæ nobis misericórdiæ dona concílient.

We beseech thee, O Lord, that these offerings may both loosen the bonds of our wickedness and obtain for us the gift of mercy.

Luke 11:9-10

v. Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened, allelúja.

Amen.

Mercifully grant our prayers, we beseech thee, O Lord, that while we receive thy gifts in tribulation, we may be conforted, and so increase in thy love.

Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.

Amen.
